5月30日、イタリアから来福された〈ベスパクラブ・トリエステと野良猫たち（Vespa club Trieste E Gatti Randagi）〉のメンバー・M氏とI氏と福岡市内にあるカフェでお会いし、両クラブのバナーを交換しました。
デザイン性豊かな数多くのグッズ
ご挨拶を済ませた後、まずはお互いのクラブのバナーを交換し記念撮影を行いました。一緒にクラブの精神や個性が感じられるデザイン性豊かなスティッカーやバッヂ、フラッグ、ワッペンなど数多くの素晴らしいグッズもいただきました。
その後はアイスコーヒーを飲みながら、イタリアにおけるベスパの歴史や、時代とともに移り変わるモーターサイクルデザインについてのお話を伺いました。さらに、M氏とI氏が所有されるベスパや、ご家族が大切に乗られてきたクラシックベスパの写真も見せていただきました。
さすが、イタリアを代表するスタイルアイコンである〈ベスパ〉！
1946年から続くその豊かな歴史を、深い愛情と誇りを持って私たちに語ってくれるM氏とI氏。彼らのその姿や言葉からは、ベスパが単なるモーターサイクルではなく、国や文化、そして世代を超えて人々を結び付ける存在であることが伝わってきます。この日、私たちは会話を通じて多くの刺激や改めて気づきを得ることができ、国境を越えたベスパ愛好家同士の友情の尊さと、国際的なベスパコミュニティが持つ特別な絆を強く実感することができました。非常に有意義で、心に残る交流のひとときとなりました。

On May 30, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. M and Ms. I, members of Vespa Club Trieste E Gatti Randagi, who were visiting Fukuoka from Italy. We met at a café in Fukuoka City and exchanged banners between our respective clubs.
After exchanging greetings, we first exchanged our club banners and took commemorative photographs together. We were also presented with many wonderful items, including beautifully designed stickers, badges, flags, and patches that reflected the spirit and individuality of their club. While enjoying iced coffee, we had the opportunity to hear about the history of Vespa in Italy and the evolution of motorcycle design through the years. Mr. M and Ms. I also showed us photographs of the Vespas they own, as well as classic Vespas that have been carefully cherished and ridden by members of their families.
As expected of Vespa, one of Italy’s most iconic symbols of style!
With deep affection and pride, Mr. M and Ms. I shared with us the rich history of Vespa, which dates back to 1946. Through their words and their passion, it became clear that Vespa is far more than simply a motorcycle; it is something that connects people across countries, cultures, and generations. Through our conversations that day, we gained many new insights and sources of inspiration, while also being reminded of the value of friendship among Vespa enthusiasts beyond national borders and the unique bond that exists within the international Vespa community. It was a truly meaningful and memorable exchange.
